Prior to 1816, hats were pulled on perfectly circular blocks. When the head opening was reshaped to accommodate the head shape, the base elongated and the top stayed perfectly circular resulting in the tapered "bell" appearance when viewed from the front or back. This style, with a 2 1/4" brim width and a 7" crown height, shown here in a light tan, is done in this manner. The light color indicates this is a daytime hat only.
Price: $175.00 (includes silk lining and extra fine stitching on the sweatband, 12 per inch) plus S&H
